TL;DR: banana + cocoa ~= chocolate pudding!
Ingredients
Instant steel-cut oats
Ripe bananas (2 per cup of oats)
Cocoa powder (2 tsp per banana)
Powdered spices like cinnamon and/or cardamom (optional)
frozen berries (optional)
nuts (optional)
“milk” (optional)
Instructions
Measure out half a cup of oats per hungry mouth & mix it with twice as much good ol’e H2O in a ceramic bowl.
Zap the bowl of oats in the microwave for a hot minute. This is a New York minute so we’ll do step 3 below while we wait.
Peel the banana(s) and dump ‘em into a large mixing bowl. Feel free to snap ‘em in half if that makes you feel better.
Add the cocoa powder to the bananas in the mixing bowl. If you want to spice things up, you can toss in a wee smidgen of cinnamon and/or cardamom too.
Mash the bananas thoroughly (as shown in the video below). You’ll know you’re done when the hungry mouths start clamouring to try the “chocolate pudding”.
Pour the oatmeal (from the microwave) into the mixing bowl and stir until homogeneous.
Splash in a few frozen berries and/or a dollop of any whitish liquid from the fridge that you can reasonably pass off as milk while serving. This cools down the hot oatmeal. You can also toss in a handful of nuts if you like.

If you try it, leave a comment to let us know what your hungry mouths thought of it. Maybe they’ll have ideas to improve the recipe!
