TL;DR: banana + cocoa ~= chocolate pudding!
Ingredients
Steel-cut oats
Ripe bananas (2 per cup of oats)
Cocoa powder (2 tsp per banana)
Mylk: I prefer hemp but you can try oat-milk for a “parent’n’child” vibe.
Powdered spices like cinnamon and/or cardamom (optional)
Berries (optional): goji berries are optimal but rasp/blue ones are fine too.
Nut butter (optional but highly recommended): peanut butter is great.
Nuts (optional): cashews excel at absorbing water, as do almonds.
Chia seeds (optional but highly recommended)
Instructions
Peel the banana(s) and dump ‘em into a large container. Feel free to snap ‘em in half if that makes you feel better.
Add the cocoa powder to the bananas in the mixing bowl. If you want to spice things up, you can toss in a dollop of cinnamon and/or a pinch of cardamom too.
Mash the bananas thoroughly (as shown in the video below). You’ll know you’re done when the hungry mouths start clamouring to try the “chocolate pudding”.
Add a tablespoon of chia seeds.
Pour in a dollop of any whitish liquid from the fridge that you can reasonably pass off as “milk”. Stir until homogeneous.
Pout in some nut butter. Stir vigorously until homogeneous (yes, again).
Measure out half a cup of oats per hungry mouth into the mixing bowl and stir until homogeneous (last time, I promise).
Splash in a few berries. You can also toss in a handful of nuts if you like.
Stick this in the fridge at least for several hours. You can continue eating it for the next few days!

And here’s a sketch of the process by 1 of the 2 hungry mouths:
If you try it, leave a comment to let us know what your hungry mouths thought of it. Maybe they’ll have ideas to improve the recipe!
Love the drawing of this dish! :)
